About

AugmentedBIM was prototyped at the 2015 AEC Techology Hackathon. It lets you overlay your BIM models on the real world - augmented reality for BIM models. The project is a mashup of a few existing open source technologies. It uses Spectacles to export BIM models from popular AEC authoring applications, and was forked off of this awesome project, which has figured out how to lay THREE.js models into an augmented reality workflow. AugmentedBIM is an open source project, Licensed with the MIT License. Please check out the source code here: github.com/anagpuyol/AugmentedBIM

Use Cases

  • On Site Review

Print out a marker at scale, tape it up in the right location on site, and use your tablet to review the BIM model overlayed on top of the in-process construction work.

  • Design Options Review

Use AugmentedBIM to present design options to a client. Instead of making them imagine how a few options work work, take them on site and show them.

  • Full Scale Virtual Mock-Ups

Want to know what a space will feel like? Print out a marker and find out!
